I do not have the Premium 5.1 channel sub but i do have the 150 watt Powered sub. It has a crossover knob that lets you adjust which frequencies are coming out of it. Obviously at 150 watts Its not the loudest thing in the world, but for my home system its perfect. Hi, this device is not Bluetooth capable. You must hook them up to a receiver. I was confused as well having not seen this hookup before.

Overall I am happy with the surround sound system. The only negative was I specifically choose this system because the projector I attached it to has component inputs. The system can switch between different component inputs but it is a picture only switch. Sound does NOT transfer with any of the component inputs. So you have picture but not sound, or switch the sound inputs, and you has sound but no picture.
I'm guessing its a setting in the Disney disc itself but I haven't taken the time to look into it yet. This is my first Yamaha device and I have nothing but positive things to say. This system was recommended by the Best Buy salesperson as his personal favorite. It was very easy to install, and the sound quality is very impressive. The reciever is only 5.1, but has so many options including a plethera of HDMI inputs and adjustments as well as a microphone for auto speaker calibration. The bass frequency response will be altered if the ports are blocked or covered. No these speakers aren’t shielded, but the magnets aren’t nearly big enough to cause any problems with any nearby electronics that the speakers or subwoofer may be around. To install the insert, there is a nut holding the insert into the cabinet. On re-assembly I put a little thread lock on the insert so they wont get loose even for typical torque on the bolt into the speaker insert. The removal and install of the woofer to access the nut is straight forward. Ended up just skipping the pins and connecting directly with the wires.
I found it worth while to upgrade to the 12AWG, especially for longer lengths (over 20'). I started with 16AWG and upgraded; the difference was obvious. I went with the Classic oxygen-free, pure copper wire but I don't claim to have the expertise to know how much difference that makes. I just figured better wire, better sound. I am not one of those people that needs or wants an amazingly expensive sound system. I researched various systems before purchasing the yamaha.
The speakers come with standard threaded holes for mounting, but you will need to buy a wall mounting system to hang them. Purchasing this Item alone is only speakers. You will need speaker wire, and speaker mounts. They screws are not the correct ones but a quick trip to the hardware. Overall this sound system is a lot better than I expected.
You could start with a 3.0 system by buying 3 of these for $224. Use one for center channel vertical if you have the space as that is ideal to have 3 of the same across the front. Lowest really good one is the RSL speedwoofer 10s at $399.

Don't let this shy you away, again at the price point on sale this is a great set that you would be very challenged to match from other brands.
